Steve Edelman, an associate with St. Louis-based Page Law, represents personal injury victims in Missouri and Illinois.
Edelman, a St. Louis native, learned a lot about what it means to be a lawyer from his father, Bernard, a noted St. Louis attorney. "My father was a great role model and teacher, and he was a masterful problem solver" Edelman says. "Through his example, I learned how to be an effective lawyer, advocate, and counselor for my clients."
A 1993 graduate of Saint Louis University High School, Edelman obtained his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1997. He remained in Columbia for law school, receiving his law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 2000.
From 2000 to 2009, Edelman was managing partner of a highly successful defense firm in Clayton, Mo with his afore-mentioned father.
"As a defense lawyer I was able to hone my trial and courtroom skills," Edelman said. "Now I use those trial skills to help people who have been injured in accidents, and I think I have an advantage from my defense experience because I can anticipate how the defense in a case is going to take shape before it actually does so."
Edelman's personal injury practice encompasses a variety of cases, including:
- Car accidents
- Tractor-trailer and other trucking accidents
- Premises liability cases, including slip-and-fall incidents
- Dog bite and other animal attack cases
Edelman, licensed in both Illinois and Missouri, handles personal injury cases in both states' courts. He also practices in federal trial courts throughout Missouri and has handled numerous appellate matters before the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
